Is it offensive to call heterosexuals straight? People will continue to use labels until otherwise, the term gay is far more acceptable than other terms that are used, that's for sure. But when misused like so many words, the term gay can become an offensive slang. Like the use of gay to describe something that's unwanted or stupid which I do not like. It orginaly meant joyful and/or happy and in current use can be used to describe someone who is homosexual or a place/event/ect associated with homosexuals.

I am not up on my homosexual vernacular but isnt that what they prefer to be called? Why would you think it would be offensive.
