  • no, accepting God and accepting religion are two different things, but if you believe in a religion and you don't go to its church then there is something you're not doing right.
  • Not if you believe in Allah, in which case you should go to Mosque, or in the Old Testament God but not Jesus, in which case you should go to Synagogue, or in the Hindu Gods, in which case you should go to the Temple, and so on. Which God do you believe in, and why? Do you believe because scripture said so (in which case you should obey scripture) or for reasons of your own (in which case you only have to satisfy your internal voice).
  • I don't think there is anything wrong with that.
  • Absolutly not. Believing in god doesnt demand ur constant presence in a church :S...
  • No You do not need to go to church to respect God. you can pray, ask, worship, beg or what ever your need from anywhere, he can and will hear you from every-where. The church you speak of is a BUILDING. The CHURCH of GOD is in our HEARTS.
  • "I believe in god but don't go to church is this wrong?" ... Well, it depends on what you mean by "wrong"! Not attending a church, or a fellowship among common believers, will NOT strip you from you salvation ... but it does, much like baptism, demonstrate the condition of your heart TOWARDS GOD. For example, baptism DOES NOT save you ... "who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity, ..." - 2 Timothy 1:9 ... AND ... "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast." - Ephesians 2:8-9 ... SO, you can't "DO" anything to receive eternal salvation ... that is ONLY attained through faith in Christ Jesus. So baptism is an OUTWARD CYMBAL of an INWARD REALITY. And ... since we are commanded to be baptized, it is our FIRST step of obedience to Christ Jesus as the Lord of our lives. NOW, back to the main point. Going to church will NOT save you. Not going to church will NOT condemn you! But ... we, as Christians, are called to be IN FELLOWSHIP with one another. "... and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; ..." - Hebrews 10:24-25 ... we, as Christians, are the body of Christ ... and TOGETHER we should be standing as ONE Holy witness, full of light, to this dark world. Therefore, you will NOT be condemned for NOT attended a church ... but it is, rather, a demonstration of the condition of your heart TOWARDS GOD. It too is an act of obedience ... and, IF you get "plugged in" into a healthy, well balanced church, ... it is a GREAT joy. Thank you.
  • no if you believe in your faith. Going to church just strengthins it.
  • I personally don't believe it's wrong.
  • well i dont believe in going to church yoiu can pray at home the same as you can in church
  • Your first problem is believing in God, but you are better off than those who go to church on top of believing.
  • Just because you live in a Christian dominated society, it does not mean that you have to be Christian. Islam is the fastest growing Religion on the face of the Earth and I encourage you to find your answer there.
  • I don't believe it is. One can have faith but just not timetabled to go to church.
  • If you truly beleive in God, then you should read(if you haven't already) the Bible. The Bible will tell you that God wants you to gather in groups of 2 or more to come and praise him. Also to give 10% of you earnings (tithes) to the church to help the spread of the word of God thoughout the world.
  • In my opinion, it depends what god you believe in. The Christian God? If this is the case, you'd enjoy going to church, it'd help you to grow in your religion. If you believe in a god such as the one in 'Conversations with God' then there is no need for church as that god is not about religion :)
  • It's not "wrong" but you would probably enjoy it if you can find a church that "fits"
  • No it's not wrong, it might be frowned upon, but God isn't going to smite you for it. The only repercussions will come from other religious people.
  • Not wrong at all. I believe in God and haven't been to church for many years. I feel it's best to stay away from all the mean, hypocritical, sanctimonious people. Not all church goers are like that, but a lot are.
  • As long as you pray and read your Bible, it is ok, but it is better if you go.
  • Not at all.God resides in belief not in any man made structure.
  • as long as you believe in your heart nope not wrong. should you go to church i believe so. but its what ever your comfterable with at the moment
  • For salvation you must believe that that Jesus was sent to die for your sins. You believe that he rose again and is seated next to God. You then are suppose to let him lead your life. that is my understanding. That aside their are many good churches out their are a small amount of not good churches. Unfortunely some of us end up in the not so good churches and this sours us. Not on God and his son but churches. You can pray, study your bible and follow god without a building. I am looking for a church because I think it keeps me on track with out followers. I don't believe that church is what saves me.
  • it is definitely not wrong. one can believe in god whether or not they are christian or any religion for that matter and not go to church, temple, their mosque etc. regardless
  • No. It is in fact a step in the right direction.
