  • the world will definetively end, either humans will destroy it or the sun will eat it at some point
  • Staffie, this question is so important. It's only part of a bigger question, but you do well to seek answers. After a half-century of study, i have come to trust the Holy Bible. Its answer is clear and reassuring. Part of the Bible was originally written in Greek and speaks of 'kosmos' (usually translated 'world') and 'aion'(sometimes rendered 'age' but better 'system of things'). The world of the Bible isn't the earth or even all humankind. In fact, sometimes, even the world for 'earth' refers to people. So, to understand the 'end of the world' or 'end of the system of things', it's important to look at context and the overall teachings of the Bible. Leaving out much detail for now, the prophets (including Jesus) have assured us that the present world order, filled with wickedness, greed, violence and suffering, will come to a forcible end while righteous humans will survive to build a new world or 'new earth'. The planet and human species will remain forever, working in peace and harmony. The wickedness that causes so much sorrow will come to an end, while the human family will enjoy an eternal future of happiness. If you want more details, ask. www.watchtower.org
  • The world is resilient, however the Human race is not. We are merely a speck in the timeline of existence, so while the Human Race may end, I doubt that the planet is going down so easily.
  • yes, because all things that have a beginning also have an end.
  • Their is serious talk about a meteor hitting the earth within this century,so the world will fly off its axis and end as a planet.
  • This world that we know to exist will end one day but another one will exist again somewhere.
  • Death is a part of life for everything we know. So yes the world as we know it will end some day.
  • Theres no way it's just gonna "end" but it will slowly get worse and all the resources will be used up. The sun might die out before we do.
  • Yes, in about 4 billion years the sun will swell up due to a lack of hydrogen and engulf Mercury, Venus, and Earth.
  • NO.I believe in God,but I can't imagine God without mankind.A creator needs creation, otherwise it is not a creator anymore.
  • I believe this world we live on will end. Human war might do it. Meteor impact might do it. The sun will eventually swell and consume it. The universe is expanding and accelerating its expansion. In time, all other galaxies will disappear from our sight and all stars will burn out, leaving the whole universe in a "big chill". __________ For those who think a comet/meteor will end the world ... "and Shiva the Destroyer, Death, the shatterer of worlds, shall cleave the world assunder with His mighty, heavenly sword of stars." . A short quote from the Vedic Scriptures, on the end of the world.
  • The end of the world is coming? Of course it is. Sooner or later...
  • I agree with Mike. It's bound to happen sometime.
  • I do, because nothing in this world is eternal, so why would the world be? But in a more immediate sense, I do entertain apocalypse fantasies. I don't know if I really believe the world will end in a sudden, catastrophic kind of way, or if there will be survivors or not...but I like to think of it! It's a very exciting thought.
  • The *world* is not a TV program which is destined to end at some predetermined point. But the fact remains that human kind has the potential and even the proclivity toward self annihilation. We can assume that anything which is possible is probable, but even then it's not the end of the world, it will exist in some form, with or without life as we now know it. To recap, even if mankind all dies out, you would not call it the end of the world, it would simply be the end of mankind.
  • It will for me....when I die.
  • Yeah, because it has to.
