I have heard sitting and using a computer can be bad for our health, more back aches, more weight gain, bad for our eyes etc,For whatever reason.What is a good time limit for a day to day basis of computer usage to be sure people stay healthy overall?

    Well it's really no different than sitting watching television. You should be getting up and moving a little ever 15-20 minutes, looking away from the computer, etc. Stretch and move, and learn to sit properly, and you won't have added back aches.
    As for the things like weight gain, it doesn't really cause added weight gain except the fact that you're sitting on your ass instead of going out and playing soccer or something like that.
    You want to stay healthy, for every hour on the computer do a half hour of something else that's active.

    If you use a computer there are several things you can do to help in those areas. Using pads for your wrists. Buy an ergonomic chair. Gaining weight is based on your exercise. Since excessive sitting could slow your metabolism down, you should counter it by doing some exercise and eating correctly. A good LCD with a fast refresh rate will ease the eyes or if you are in the dark a light behind the monitor will help in the contrast. A few hours is probably the most healthy but can't always be done. Try to take breaks or go on 20min walks every few hours if you have excessive use on the computer.
