Ok, how do we answer this one?? But then I see the problem in the question! The words, 'Why Do We',! So the answer is, why do YOU, make it harder on yourself? Do you over commit to saying YES to other peoples problems, such as look after their kids so the parents can go out and have fun, etc? It's nice to feel wanted, it's nice to be everyone's slave, it's nice, to the other people to use you, so they can do whatever they like. Put your foot down and become un-avail, no matter how hard it is. Give yourself some time for yourself. I learnt long ago, do what is important to ME first, then if I want to help others, I only allow so much time and no more. People are greedy, if you accept to do something once, then they will play on you to repeat it again and again.

good question. because people get wrapped up in themselves and then others get hurt because they don't get the attention, and it goes round and round. well that's one thought then.

According to the bible, life is not meant to be enjoyed. Life is only to worship the lord for a better afterlife. The bible is just a large fairy tale though, in which it's guidelines does it make peoples' lives more complicated when they try to keep up with their beliefs and having fun.

No one intentionally complicates life, but if we don't keep our focus on future generations, one of them will be the last to enjoy that simple and easy life just before they are carried off to oblivion with all of human race. And while no one might punish us for being so self-consumed, most of us instinctively feel drawn to ensuring the survival of our species and as many others as we possibly can. Right now, we are living on a single-point of failure -- the Earth. Unless humanity inhabits other distant planets, the reign of humanity is finite. To propel our civilization beyond the surface of the Earth... and beyond our Milky Way Galaxy to find inhabitable planets similar to our own, we must overcome time and space. This requires us to partake in numerous complicated endeavors. We are perhaps only a century away from establishing life on an Earth-like planet that is beyond our own galaxy. If we never achieve that goal, the generations that follow will never live to experience regret. Thus, it doesn't matter. But based on what we known and imagine, if humanity does survive long enough, it may even one day be possible to resurrect the lives we are living today.
