  • A few public advocates have spoken for physician-assisted suicide. Besides Doctor Jack Kervokian with his "death machine", Dr. Timothy Quill shows the compassionate side of physician-assisted suicide. In the story of Diane, Dr. Quill tries to convince physicians to take seriously the request of a patient to die. Currently Oregon is only state that allows physician-assisted suicide. Yes I would consider Physician assisted suicide.
  • Most certainly, why it's ok for us to decide that our pet is suffering in too much pain, but i can't decide that for myself is beyond me!
  • Absolutely!
  • I believe that each person with terminal painful disease should have this option...I know I would rather just go to sleep with medication that have to suffer with mind bending pain...its a choice I feel we should all have at that point in our lives
  • Yes, I would.
  • Yes. I have an incredibly low pain threshhold. I also don't think that there's anything morally wrong with helping someone ease their pain...
  • yes I certainly would!
  • Yes I would. I would rather go peacefully before the time, rather than suffering for possibly a longer time.
  • No. I believe the only one who has the right to take my life is God. I might fervently beg God to let me die if I was in that much pain, but I do not think I could seriously ever consider death by my own hand (even being assisted by someone).
  • In a flash
  • I believe this is a choice that most adults should be able to make. However I think there should be very strict guidlines. One of my dear friends watched her mother scream and cry in pain for 4 hours before she passed away from a long battle with cancer. I dont think any person should suffer that way in a medical facility nor should their loved ones have to see them suffer so much. I do want the freedom to make that choice.
  • You bet. I should have the right to decide not only how I live, but how I die. And it would be much easier and less painfull to have a doctor help me than to try and do it on my own.
  • Yes, but I would prefer to have the option of choosing my own place & companions though.. medical facilities to me are one of the few places i consider seriously profane...
  • I most definitely would. If I have no hope of meaningful recovery and I am only going to linger in pain then I think it would be inhumane of anyone to try and prevent me from it, too. To make someone suffer by forcing someone else's morality on them is cruel.
  • No, I wouldn't. I think that if I was supposed to die painfully, then let it be so.
