  • The Bible does NOT say that the earth is only 5,000 years old. It only gives us a timeline for the existence of man. The "days" in Genesis are not literal days as the laws of God concerning science do not work that quickly, any scientist can tell you that. While some Christians do take the entire Bible literally, there is a lot of symbolism that should not be interpreted literally and the creation of the earth in 7 days is an example of that. I personally believe that creation took at least 7,000 yrs. to happen as one day with God is as a 1,000 years. It could have even took longer than that if one considers the entire Universe. A rough estimate according to Bible chronology starting with Adam would make Mankind around 6,000 years old.
  • Between 150,000 and 2,500,000 years depending on your defination of "Man" or "Human".
