It's normal for kids to "touch themself" as they grow up because they are learning new things but to be FORCED and taught to do it..that is just sick. No way in HE** would I teach my child to do something like that..

PLEASE READ THIS!! I just saw that episode today and what is disgusting is Steve Wilkos himself!! The mother DIDN'T TEACH her daughter to touch herself! Her daughter was already occasionally touching herself and the mother asked the doctor to advise her on what to do. The doctor told her that it is normal for her to explore her body but that she should explain to her that that is something to be done in private. She said that she followed the doctor's advice and explained this to her daughter. Steve Wilkos treated this mother like trash and humiliated her on national television. I have been a public health nurse for 18 years and have spent the past 10 years teaching parenting classes. This topic frequently arises in our toddler class and we give the same advice. It is, in fact, the same as what most experts suggest...just google it! This was the first time I saw Steve Wilkos. I would have turned it off but I was intrigued but then it started making me angry the way he was talking to this mother. I just googled Steve Wilkos so I get it that that's his thing, but to slam someone when he has no clue...he's sick! Some of the other things the mother admitted to, show that she has made some poor choices regarding her daughter. But she had a concern, sought help from a health care professional, and actually followed through with what she was told and that's what he slammed her for??!!! I guess people know a bit what they're getting in to when they decide to go on the show, but I don't think this mother had any idea that she would be attacked in this way and accused of molesting her daughter. It makes me so sad to think of how awful she must have felt.

Not at 4 but yes. Just recently my wife and I found blood on the sheets of our 12 year old niece as well as some bloody objects. We had to help her to understand the right way and the wrong way to do things. We had to explain about cleanliness and how she could get an infection and that she had to be careful and use the right tools. Didn't go into to much detail but basicly start out small and slow with lube and make sure everything is clean. We told her to be open , we are here for her for anything she needs. Her parents aren't around so we are as close to her as she should be with her parents.

Personally, I don't like it. Because for one, she's quite young to be thinking too deeply into sexual pleasure right now, and two, it happens pretty naturally. Kids will explore their bodies and discover it for themselves..they don't need their Mom 'teaching' them. :/

Thats even a more reason for Steve Wilko to go back to the springer show so he isnt in any sort of control of who goes on the show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
