No. He won't legalize anything. This is because, like all the presidents before him, the President does not have the authority to pass laws.
-
I would be very surprised if Obama moved to legalize marijuana. I predict no.
-
I'm fairly certain that's not, nor will it be, anywhere near the top of his agenda. So, no.
-
That would be the best thing in the world. I really hope he does, but i dought it.
-
I highly doubt it...
-
Well prohibition didn't work for alcohol now did it?
-
the first answer made absolutely no sense, if he is it will most likely be in late 2009, hopefully after the economic crisis is over, i say in 2009 because he will have a overwhelming majority in the house, and a near filibuster proof senate with 59 senators, so maybe, just maybe
-
probably not

No it will never happen. The military industrial complex wants to keep pot illegal so they can keep throwing people in prison for using it. There are a lot of people working as slave labor. 80% of people who use drugs just smoke pot. Without pot the war on drugs racket falls apart and they lose a lot of revenue. In the next few years there are going to be a lot more people thrown in prison for bullshit reasons. The prison industry keeps lobbying for longer sentences.
-
Yes The government can save an enormous about of money by legalizing and taxing it. During such tough times as this and weak arguement to keep it illegal I think the time will come and he will be the president to do so. I don't consume it BTW.
-
I doubt it.
-
i really hope so.
-
I agree with infowarrior. Couldn't have said it better myself.
-
I don't think this issue is on the table.

It's obvious that pot should be legalized, but unfortunately, it will not become legal anytime soon. First of all, because of Bush, we're in the middle 2 wars and on the brink of another republican depression. There's bigger fish to fry. Secondly, we as a society, build more prisons than schools. Prisons building and maintaining is Big Money, and filling them up with pot smokers, drug users, and drivers who've had a drink or 2, is a top priority for law enforcement...

If the answers to this question reflect the intelligence of the average pot smoker, then this is proof that pot should remain illegal. Of course Obama is not going to legalize pot. Why? Well, because like every other President in the history of America, Obama has no legislative authority. Thus, even if he wanted to legalize pot, he couldn't.
-
No, We have enough problems.
-
I sure hope not
-
Can anyone really tell me that alchohol is better than marijuana? I would much rather take my chances with a pot smoker on the roads than a drunk.
-
Of course not.
