Question

Help answer this question below.

SpyBot often pops up and says it stopped the download of "DoubleClick" and such, even when I'm on reputable sites like Yahoo and Google. Are even these "reputable" sites in bed with spammers and hackers?

"DoubleClick" is actually nothing more than a tracking cookie, but you still have every right to be concerned about the cookie's contents. Reputable sites like Yahoo and Google are not "in bed with spammers and hackers", but yes, you may get cookies from them. If you deny a cookie and something on a page doesn't work, you may need to accept the cookie and give it the benefit of the doubt.
