Help answer this question below.

There are a lot of questions about drug tests here on answer bag, are drug tests common in America and if so are they carried out by employers? I've never heard of it in the UK except with forces and oilrig workers.

    Yes in the U.S. drug testing is a huge thing here. Most employers do a drug test before they will hire people. they also have spot testing that they can do anytime during your employment for any reason they desire. They do not have to give you notice they can pull you aside and have you tested. They normally will not do this unless they suspect your on drugs.

    Many companies will not only fire you but have in their policies to prosecute you in a court of law if found being under the influence of drugs and or alcohol.
