  • Not that I have heard of but all major players have detractors.
  • Not to my knowledge. They have such a huge following it would be really hard to do that even if there was a movement of some sort.
  • Yes there is as well as removing all preaching from TV. It offends some people. lol Who makes them listen or watch it?
  • I beleive our religious freedoms are at stake.
  • I am not aware of it. There are always rumors though. However, I think the constitution allows anyone who can pay for it to buy air time and express their views.
  • i havent heard of the movement, no. but there are plenty of people out there that work hard to persecute inspirational people. there are also those that hate religion and are intolerant of religious messages being broadcast on television. im not familiar with joyce meyers, but i think joel osteen is fabulous, and it would be a great loss for him to lose his audience.
  • No, although I'm sure they have their detractors, these ministers are well within their rights to preach on the air. I am well within my rights to change the channel if I wish, so I don't see why there would need to be a "movement".
  • I don't recall of hearing that but I will say this..Big church=Big business. The mega-churches are making merchandise of you. These huge churches are "selling" Jesus Christ through their in-house book, cd, dvd and trinket stores. Joel Osteen can't even answer the simple question----"Is Jesus the only way to heaven?" Joyce Meyers also lives the opulent life-style. When your church reaches millions of people and brings in millions or dollars and the community sees none of it, something is wrong. Freely give what you freely receive. You have the elderly living on a fixed income, giving more than they can really afford, do the mega-churches care? No, they do not. How do you think they got so big? Jesus has been reduced to a marketing ploy, a product to sell to the unsuspecting. What mega-church/mega-conglomerate do you know that hasn't operated on these same principles? Millions are made each year but still they conduct their "begathons" two or three times a year. The more money they get, the more they want. Is it any wonder why Jesus said....It would be easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a rich man to make it to heaven." Am I questioning their salvation? I cannot do that but I can question their motives. Why they feel the need to live in 5 million dollar homes, own jets, have a different Rolls Royce for every day of the week while the people who are furnishing the money for this lifestyle go without because they feel they are doing the "correct" thing.
  • I do not believe that there is a "movement" ... Because anyone who does NOT want to watch them can change the channel or turn the television OFF ... simple as that .
  • No. But, it is a hard job because they have to keep a straight face while extracting money from the believers. How they can rationalize their opulent lifestyle while spreading the humility of Jesus is beyond me. The constantly blinking eyes of Joel Osteen can hypnotize the audience. Am I the only one who can see thru this con artist?
