Hello
I ve taken Effexor several times and for prolonged times..and I found that yes it did make me very tired for a long time, especially near the beginning , I could not get enough sleep!! now Ive been taking it for 6 months and it varies from day to day, some days I get drowsier, others not so drowsy..and I have tried taking it a different times of the day also, I just give myself enough rest and I see it as the downside of the drug bc it does work well and its the price you pay for peace and relaxation!
try taking it at night, that side effect may wear off by morning.
Different drugs different side effects. I was on an old drug made in europe for many years. Wish I had know about Lexapro earlier. No drowsiness not at all like the other one. Ask your Dr. because that is not fun to be tired all the time . There are so many new drugs out and I like lexapro and deplin at the same time. It is good. and others are using too. Check with your dr. there are others that wont make you sleepy. In the beginning that is a side effect but wears off as your body begins to adjust.
