This question seems very flawed given this doesn't always happen...please provide accurate proof of this accusation.

THAT is NOT always true, and the crimes are completely different. Men killing women or as the question implies in this instance the girls in Ipswich. That is a crime committed in secrecy by its nature they would have been in dark out of the way places the girls in the killers car being driven anywhere.A hidden crime When a Police Officer is killed it is usually a crime that happens while on duty and in full view of witnesses, if not it is a person that they already have under observation therebye entailing the fact they already have a pretty good idea what community the killer has come from. TOTALLY DIFFERENT SITUATIONS.

Rapists are secretive, sometimes intelligent (in a sick way, work under cover of darkness, and generally don't tell anyone. Cop killers are generally less secretive, not so bright, commit their crimes in front of witnesses, and brag about their exploits. They are easier to find. Cop killers are also generally people who have been a danger to us for a long time and have perpetrated many crimes on many people and intend to keep doing so.
-
Serial killers plan their crimes carefully and strike when they're ready. Cop killers usually do so to avoid arrest, and leave lots of evidence. By the way, "cop" is not a pejorative term. It's the abbreviation for "constable on patrol."
-
police are more important to the rest of the force and girls who are raped and killed are just helping them fill their quota
-
Cops gettin shot is something that happends the spir of the moment and there is ushally witnesses, making it ALOT easyier to find the killer of a cop.

I think your question is senstationalist. Circumstances play a fundamental part to any crime, no two are the same....and I think you are generalizing.

The answer to your question deals in numbers. you have several women raped, but only one officer killed. Solving a single crime is normally much easier than a crime with several victims. why? the evidence in a single crime is collective or stationery, as a rule in one location. the evidence with several victims at various locations, has evidence spread in a much larger area, rather than a single crime. It takes time to collect evidence of a crime with many victims and to fit the pieces of the puzzle together. a single crime is also a single event, compared to many crimes, over a period of time, with one suspect. his mo may be different in each event.

In my opinion, some police like many other (so called protectors) are not sure that they see rape as a crime as much as a when an officer is shot. Why do the police women and military women hesitate about reporting being raped? Why are people in general tolerant of rape? As a victim of rape, I was advised by the D.A. to reduce my charge to battery because the perpetrator was contending that it was consentual- even though my clothes were ripped and I was clearly forced. I feel that we need to stop treating rape as a social issue (or sickness) and insist that it is in fact a "crime".
