  • I don't personally see why you would relate those to the opposite sex, except because of the way you have been brought up. Obviously the people you ask about were brought up differently. It doesn't mean they are cross-dressing, just that they honestly and innocently find that something suits them for style or comfort.
  • I wear jeans but not because I want to be a man....and men are wearing pink for support of breast cancer and it is a good color for some men....if I wear blue it doesn't mean I am masculine either....the gender base colors are long gone except for babies....because you usually can't tell what sex they are so parents still color code them so people know....
  • It all has to do with preference.
  • Comfort and style and habit and..... Pink for men....these men are obviously very confident in their masculinity....good for us all for wearing what we like.
  • I don't think those things relate to any sex. I've never thought it was odd that a man wore pink or for women to wear jeans. Jeans are just pants and women wear them all the time. And men have been wearing pink for hundreds of years.
  • It gives one sex the opportunity to assume some of the "good things" about the opposite sex. Women derive a sense of power from wearing boots or shoes that are slightly masculine in appearance, or wear jeans or suit jackets with padded shoulders. Men derive a sense of "expression" and "flamboyancy" from wearing traditionally female colors like pink or red, or wear gaudy ties.
  • To trade clothes between the sexes, you may go further: men wearing skirts and dresses, with their wives wearing the pants. Some men wearing more feminine clothes are doing so because they find it fashionable or exotic, as a kind of individual style, against mainstream expectations. Others are exploring their feminine side. We all have been born with feminine and masculine traits of character as well, regardless of being male or female. So, why shouldn´t men take possession of some parts of the female wardrobe like women have done vice-versa for a long time already, without being teased or ridiculed ? Everyone should be tolerated to wear what he would like to, provided, he/she takes care for a good passing.
  • Women wearing jeans? Thats just a fashion choice. Thats just the way things are now. Men wearing pink shirts? I'd suspect they're gay, which is not that uncommon. If not then its a personal choice.
  • Women wear jeans because they are "liberated" and men have pink colored shirts because the women they are with are "liberated" and suck at laundry. In the past (50's) everyone was sharply dressed.
  • You relate Jeans to men? Wow... Almost EVERY female here usually wears jeans when not working.
  • Since when are jeans for guys only? Did you just come out of the 40's? Also, macho men wear pink shirts pretty often
  • because our minds are free of restrictions. we can be what and who we want to be. because no one says it is not okay. because so much of what we wear is unisexual. meaning good for male or female. men wear women's panties. and their panty stockings. and some men wear a bra. some men just cross dress. they arent queers. they are just cross dressers. like a lesbian wearing men's clothes. a nice pink dress shirt looks good on a man.
  • dont judge people by what they wear or what they look like
  • Women wearing jeans isn't appropriate? Slightly chauvinistic, aren't we? Also, try telling people like Francis Begbie that wearing pink shirts is for women.
  • Maybe people don't care. It's their money; they buy and wear what they want to.
  • Because they want to wear it....Why do you think our clothes should be gender limited?
  • People dress in what they feel is comfortable for them.
  • Hmmmm...I'm almost 46, and women have worn jeans and pants long before I was born. Nothing "masculine" or "man only" about jeans. Men wearing pink? Lots of guys look great in pink. I know men wore pink long before I was born as well. Saying that certain kinds of clothing and certain colors are to be worn only by a certain gender is very old-fashioned, out-dated...and just plain ridiculous. I say, whatever style, color you are comfortable in wearing, you should. In reading some other comments/answers...saying that women are masculine (suggesting lesbian) or a man is effeminate or gay because of wearing what some consider gender-specific colors/clothing...I would assume you're a bit behind in the times. Wear what you want, and don't judge other books by their covers!
