  • Essentially they are evangelical Christians who believe in Jesus and the bible as doctrine. They are pacifists. Don't allow blood transfusions. Don't allow gambling. Don't allow mind altering drugs, but allow caffeine and alcohol in moderation, but no smoking. They believe that nationalism is a form of religion and therefore they don't participate in anything nationalistic. They avoid most holidays because of their Pagan associations, which is why they don't celebrate Christmas (it's full of Pagan symbolism.)
  • If I thought different meant right or wrong I certainly wouldn't take a chance of wearing my hijab every day. Different is different.
  • There are several questions here, requiring several answers. Some of the others on here have answered the first few questions, so I will answer the one that seems to be yet unanswered. Why we have no windows? I work on building Kindom Halls, so I can answer that first hand. Our Kingdom Hall building designs are somewhat standardized for the sake of cost and speed of construction. In certain areas, vandalism is also a concern. So, for the sake of construction cost, speed of construction, cost to heat and cool the hall, and to cut down on the possibility of vandalism, windows had not been incorporated into the design of our buildings. However, in recent months, our building committees have decided that the benefit of having windows, outweighs the disadvantages, so they are incorporating windows into our most recent designs. Of course, the local congregation that is having the hall built, will have the fina say about whether they will use a plan the includes windows or not. If, for example, the hall is to be built in an area where vandalism may be a huge concern, or if they are in an area of extreme climatic conditions, they may choose a plan that has no windows.
  • 1) Yes, montheists. 2) It's not Passover but the annual memorial of the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ. 3) If you don't see any windows it's bedcause that is the design of the building. Many Kingdom Halls have windows. Windows get broken by vandals and are used to gain entry during burglary. Hence in high crime areas no windows would be a beneift.
  • Another question you posed was regarding Passover. Actually, we do not celebrate Passover. The Passover was a Jewish observance that was part of the Law covenant given to Moses, and passed on to the nation of Isreal. We are christians, that is, thise who follow the teachings of Jesus. On the night before Jesus death, after he and his disciples had finished observing the Passover, at Luke 22:29, we read that he established a "new covenant" with his annointed followers for a kingdom. He used two of the leftover items from the Passover meal in symbolic ways to seal this covenant. He used red wine in symbol of his blood, and the unleaven bread in symbol of his body. He siad to "keep doing this in remmberance of me," because he knew that he was to be put to death the next day. This became known as the "Lord's Evening Meal." In obedience to Jesus, we observe the Lord's Evening Meal, annually on the same day as it was first done by Jesus and his disciples nearly 2000 years ago. This day happens to be on the same day as was Passover, because that was the day it happened back then, but it is not the Passover. We believe that the Passover was part of a covenant that was replaced by the "new covenant" spoken of by Jesus.
