  • probely, but if we did it after brown then we would look like we only did it to copy US. It is more likly that we will have a asian leader as it would make more of a stament of equality these days if we had a middle estern leader.
  • Hmmmmn. I would hope that the people of the UK would vote for anyone purely on their being the best person for the job, but unfortunately a lot of people are racist, so it would be an uphill struggle, especially at the moment when groups like the BNP seem to be making inroads.
  • I think it's possible but I don't think it should matter. Race really shouldn't be a issue that is why so called positive discrimination pisses me off so much. I'm not racist far from it and think that discrimination is wrong but people should get jobs and get voted for on their ability and merit not their colour it's ridiculous that people get priority over other people just because of the colour of their skin.
  • I hope so but I think no, can anyone name a black mp?
  • Dont see why not!!!
  • It's possible. But I don't think I will live to see it. Think about it. There has only been one woman PM. That's with 50% of the population. I haven't looked up British demographics, but I don't think the numbers are all that high. I don't think it will be racism that stops a black man from being PM, but numbers.
  • sorry but we will probaly have a muslim first ..oh my god
  • I don't know. I would like to think it was possible, but I think probably not. But not because people are racist, but because people tend to vote for parties and leaders that they identify with. At present, the majority population of the UK is still from a white British background. So they will vote for those they identify with. I would vote for a black leader, if I felt he represented what I wanted him to represent, just as I would vote for a woman.
  • I think its bound to happen sometime because there are many M.P's from our multi race society.
  • I wouldn't rule it out. The problem we have in Britain is that there aren't any prominent black politicans. We would need at least one black politican to take a prominent role in one of the 2 main parties, and establish themselves first, which would take time.
