  • Sounds like their is some sort of port conflict with your USB drivers and itunes. Could be a number of reasons why. The obvious workaround it to copy it to your primary hard drive first, but that kinda bites. Do you experience the same problem going from your external hard drive to a USB flash drive? If you don't then it's probably an error with itunes (make sure you have the latest version). If you do it is probably a windows glitch. I might try using winamp (www.winamp.com) to try moving files back and forth (you aren't required to use itunes). If winamp works you know it's an itunes problem. You can then try reinstalling itunes, switching to an older version of it, or if all else fails post a bug to apple indicating your problem and get a fix a year later maybe.
