I'm 62. In my chest beats the heart of an 18 year old. After three distinct careers, I have not yet decided what I might want to be after I grow up. NEXT!

The age of maturity is a very subjective judgment call. There are some areas where a child of 7 can exhibit maturity. Of course, some people never really reach "maturity", but that is mostly a judgment call, as well. There are some guidelines, but no true measurement. Here is what wikipedia has to say about it: "Maturity is a psychological term used to indicate that a person responds to the circumstances or environment in an appropriate manner." For a more in depth explanation, see the full article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maturity_(psychological)

It can be any age. Maturity is relative... How much you're grown up compare with the mass in similar age group. A kid may be matured like a 12 yr old guy but still isn't when compared with much elder people. Maturity is something one always goes towards but never reaches- you can always get more matured... There's nothing like "reaching" maturity, that its the end and that you've got all that is needed.

I think it's a concious decision to grow up, that most people make because they think they have to, or want to. Sometimes people do it in stages. Some people never make that decision. I know one 33 year old who acts like a 5 year old, he's rude, lies, not especially bright, gets overexcited, and a generally sleazy. You can imagine that even his friends don't like him.

Maturity isnt arbitrary enough to put a finger on. I know plenty of 40-50 year old DOCTORS who indulge in activities such as paintballing, LAN gaming and playing basketball as if it was the NBA playoffs, and act liek 10 year olds around each other. Still, you wouldnt consider them immature.
