What's a European-American? Do you mean a pigment-challenged American? I guess if the friend feels threatened, I could understand why he would want a gun. It is, however, probably ridiculous to chose a shotgun. I'd go for a handgun. They are easier to store and conceal, faster to get to if needed and have a better chance of disabling a threat.

lol.. not at all.

using a gun that belongs to someone else is never a smart thing. If he uses the gun and kills someone the person using the gun as well as the owner will both be brought up on charges. It does not matter what kind of gun when it is used for protection or whatever if the end results is used on another person.

Ridiculous as hell. I hope he doesn't shoot someone by mistake including himself. He will have to keep it loaded and in an accessible place or it will be useless. In addition it is a long gun which means he has to swing 8 pounds of metal around to point it at a target. An assailant can have him on his a** before he gets that done.

Where is that apartment complex located? Are the people who live there drug dealers who use guns in their day-to-day life? If it is simply because he is uncomfortable around African Americans, he should do himself and his neighbors a favor and move somewhere else. We don't need more fearful people with guns in our midst. Let him move somewhere where he does not feel the need for a shotgun. :(

Yes...he needs to buy his own.....also a Handgun would not go amiss....

Where did he get the shotgun from...who did he borrow it from..If he feels threatned he should move before something happens......
