  • I do, and I do it whenever something happens that impacts me deeply, I'm not a poet so I don't go looking for things to write about but I believe in writing as a powerful form of expression and I use when I really need it. I've writing about death and injustice, about surviving and love (who has not?).
  • Just random stuff that strikes me or has an emotional effect. Of the two I've posted on AB one was inspired by Lord Nelson, the other by Jane Eyre. The last one I wrote was about the myth of the succubus (demons who have sex with men whilst they're sleeping)- just various things really.
  • I usually write poems when I'm hurt, so you won't find the mushy "roses are red" stuff among my works. I hate freeverse [poems with non-rhyming lines] and try to rhyme stuff as much as possible. Now imagine doing rhymes with murderous thoughts boiling in your head at the same time... there you go.
  • yah Every year I submit a poem to school yearbook.I usually write poems about nature as it gives life, the foremost thing than money. It is the duty of every person to acknowledge it
  • I write poetry when I am emotionally deep (happy and sad). So my word choices are very descriptive. Sample phrases are "fetal ballets" "cerebral cathedrals" "abysmal depths". It all depends on my state of mind when I compose the poem.
  • I write poetry on a variety of subjects like nature, religion, romance, etc.
  • Yes I have always written poetry usually when I am unhappy although that does not mean the poetry is necessarily sad. I did have a few poems included in a Brazilian friends book . Of course I could not understand a word of what i wa supposed to have written he could have changed it completely Oh well a credit is a credit I suppose

  • I write some poetry, usualy a sonnet. I'll usualy write it about love.
  • I write poems. They are about things. No subject is taboo. I've written poems on many different subjects. I'd also add that I don't think "emotion" is essential to a poem... why should what the writer feels have anything to do with the reader reading the poem?
  • There are so many emotions I'll be in and then I start with a Title - Beat - and then I'm writing - Most is upbeat and positive - About Life -
  • Yep! I am a rnb/rap musician and that can be poetry. I write about politics, terrorism, love, God, family, anything I can put my mind to. A good example of this would be Tupac Shakur

  • Yes, I write my best poetry when I am depressed. I haven't written in awhile. (which is good have not been unhappy) I sometimes do if it is just something I am passionate about as well. I was a winner on poetry.com for one of the weekly poems you vote on (a few years back) and had several poems published in the International Library of Poetry books (website is them as well)...but I think the book publishes everyone. LOL. ++
  • Yes. Dr. Suess is my hero and inspiration: OUCH As I travel down life’s road, I stumble on a rock Fall face forward to my knees so hard I lose a sock Knock a knot atop my head so large I cannot stand Tumble over on my side and land straight on my hand Broken thumb and brain now numb I struggle to my feet Balancer tall then slip and fall into a busy street Break my watch as it fly’s off into a mental pole Gallop in then scrape my chin inside a new pot hole Watch as cars zoom by my face so fast I roll away Into the night on until morning then back into light of day Scratch my head ask if I’m dead or just blind from the fall Grope around on wet cold ground into a cement wall It starts to rain and I hear trains or is a storm near by Hear a roar sweep out the door into a funnel cloud Swirl inside the center cell torpedo down a wishing well Wake scabbed and wet I choke down sweat that soaks my brow like tax to debt then scratch my nose And take a sigh, look up and thank the cloudy sky That I have you to come home to and hang on tight like crazy glue For nothing in this big wide world can wipe my smile away As long as there is me for you Inside each night and day

  • Usually about how the media and government cover up many things. Mindless Violence. Play their game,we're all the same, blood comes down, the Devil's rain. Bodies fall,as reality calls, dying times as leaders stand tall. Mindless violence, our new birthright, a way of life,in the sniper's sight. New found fad,for political aims of terror, media propaganda, can't make it clearer. Vote for me,I will take every gun away, make me rich, but everything will stay the same. Then preach for world war, just so stocks will soar, one day it's exposed, they're all globalist whores. Mindless violence, only evil, sick political ploys, invent civil war,use us all like we're disposable toys. You can raise the new flag,no longer red, white and blue, afterwards rot in Hell, imagining no one knew. The Bannibal One Nov.6,2017@
