I've found it may take a while, but unless the page times out, it will post if you have a little patience. Answerbag has to process over 1000 new questions a day, likely over 10000 new answers a day, somewhere around 3-4000 users (out of 100,000 or more active) USERs a day, hundreds or thousands of moderations a day, not to mention the visitors to the site from search engines who don't join, display thousands upon thousands of different pages, and with all that, there are times their servers are overwhelmed - Sometimes some things just take a few seconds more than they normally do. I have not lost a comment for some times, have lost a couple of ansewrs that I attribute more to hitting the server at the same time as someone else, so my number gets lost, and have noticed that there are times it's even slower than it can get. Answerbag apparently does not have the resources that many of much larger sites have to continuously buy new servers and get them online. If you fear it will disappear, with your cursor in the comment (or answer) box, hit Control-A, Control-C to select and copy it before the submit, so you can simply paste it if the submit fails, which normally is not too often.

I've noticed that if I don't clear out Foxfire's cache at least once a week that the comment's submit button disappears and I'm unable to post comments at all under my received answers. This has just happened to me today as I had to deal with 2 pages of "new" answers and comments that accumulated over night. All that appeared under my comments was a grayed out cancel button. After I cleared the cache and browsing history under the tools menu in Foxfire, the glitch went away and my comments are now posting quickly. When you see posting and nothing happens, you may want to see if your comment postings speed up after clearing your cache. I always thought it was an AB glitch when the comments either wouldn't post or they would post slowly. I am grateful to user Cognition for helping me learn how to use the options under the tools menu for making things speed up and work better.
