I don't know that I would arrange a marriage to produce an heir, but I would produce one. I do not know with whom. If I am getting married, it would have to be with someone I see and love as a life partner (who also returns those feelings).

Ok I'll give this one a response. The needs of others outweigh the needs of myself. I would arrange a marriage within one year. I would start off basically with an application process. I'm sure I'd get plenty of applicants because what single girl doesn't want a chance with a man who can get just about anything he wants. I would design this application and create all the questions on it. I would then have some friends and some of my cousins start going through each of the applications and flagging specific ones. The first ones to be flagged where people who I personally knew in the past or now. Then the applications would be flagged based on the answers to the questions with people who answered most if not all of the questions the way I liked them. I would then go through the flagged applications, pick out specific people and interview them. Besides my interviews and answering questions the way I liked them answered. I would have strong preference for someone I knew in the past. Also I'll be completly honest I'd have a strong perference for someone I'm attracted to. (What else are you going to base it on?) This still may not bring me any kind of happiness with the marriage. But when it comes to deciding between my marital satisfaction and a bloody civil war there is no decision. The needs of the many outweigh my needs and desires.

If the world will indeed suffer teribly at my prodigenless passing, I see it as my duty to produce an offspring. My choice of bride would be my political oponents daughter.

Marriage wouldn't be a bad idea, but not solely for producing an heir. That formula has caused all sorts of problems in history. There are easier ways of getting an heir. An ideal spouse would just be a plus.
