  • While lawyers study virtually the same things, there are other factors that make a lawyer "better" than the others. For example, lawyers who graduated from top universities already have an edge over those who came from not-so-famous universities. Also, some lawyers have better analytical skills than others. It's easier for them to spot inconsistencies in the statements of witnesses, among other things. Another thing, some people are just luckier than the others. How often have I seen not-so bright lawyers who are much more successful than the really brilliant ones? Oh well, that's life.
