  • That's an extremely tuff one. Some babies may need the reccomended amount of gas medicine, some might need changed and rocked. Some like bathes, others like soft classical type music. Some like to have their bottoms patted gently. It's hard to say, each baby is individual. If you find yourself getting to upset then lay the baby down where it will be safe and can't smother, and then go and take a five or ten minute break so you can calm down. A little cat nip tea also helps because some babies get awful tummy aches from formula. Just stay calm, and try some different things like this and see what your baby likes best, if your calm it will help tremendously!
  • A BABY? Sorry, my friend, a little baby can't be reasoned with. You'll have to figure out the problem and babies aren't of the type to tell you what it is. I know it's hard but you have to suck it up and use your head. It wants something or something is bothering it. You have to figure it out. I can't say it's a lot of fun but the baby can't fend for itself. It needs you completely. I had small kids for a while. I found it a bit tedious but once they are older it can really be gratifying. Figure out why it's crying. Once you've done that you may understand it better and have more success in the future.
  • Subdue? If I had to subdue a baby, I guess a full body tackle might work...
  • Hand it over to its mother.
  • Kick it in the throat.... O_o
  • Little babies usually cry for these reasons. They're hungry, in which case you feed them. They're sleepy, in which case you rock them to sleep. They need companionship, in which case good bonding is in order...like singing or stimuli of some sort (i.e. a rattle, toy, etc.) They might be overstimulated, in which case you lower the noise and use a soft voice and tell everyone it's quiet time...hands off. They have a wet or messy diaper, in which duh....change it. Or they are gassy....try Mylicon drops. Gas drops for little tummies! It's like baby crack! My daughter had colic for 4 months and the only way to get her to stop was give her the drops and put her in a vibrating bouncy seat. and if your baby is still crying.....he/she could be sick:(
  • Babies cry for many reasons, this is true. Sometimes they are colik and what I found worked great with my first born who is now in college was to take the baby over to a sink with warm water in it and while holding the baby let her feet sit in the nice warm water. I know this sounds odd but it works. A lot of times babies feet get cold no matter how much you have them buddled up. I even warmed her socks in the microwave a few seconds and she quieted down. Bet your baby is a girl :-)
