  • I had pretty bad acne when i was a teenager, i was kidded about it constantly.
  • Not until I was about six years old, and then I became very self-conscious. That, plus being sent to an all-male boarding school meant I found it difficult to know how to interact with girls, and even though I chose a hobby (magic) that meant I would occasionally be in the spotlight, I never really felt like it was where I wanted to be.
  • As a child, yes. I fail to see any adult behavioral connection to this.
  • I was so self conscious as a kid. It continued into adulthood. I used to hate having to greet people, so if I saw someone on the sidewalk coming toward me, I would cross the street so I did not have to make eye contact. This kept me from developing very good "small-talk" skills. Made it hard for me to meet people. I never had more than one friend at a time. Although I have 6 siblings and that seems enough for me. Now I work in a professional position, give speeches and presentations regularly, meet new people all the time... and I developed a REALLY good social mask to be able to cope. When I get home at night though.... the last thing I want to do is be around people. They drain my energy.
