I have taught many insects how to die a quick, honorable and painless (I think) death. I am working on teaching large flying insects to catch miniature frisbees and also bring the newspaper to the door when it lands on the roof.

Flea circuses should count. They train the fleas not to jump and then tie/glue props to them and they preform. It's mostly a dead art form but according to Wikipedia there are a few people practicing it http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flea_circus
