In places where summer time is used, on one day of the year it is possible to work a maximum of 25 hours, otherwise we are all limited (by the laws of physics) to 24 hours in each day.

24.. MD's work 36 hour shifts sometimes with very little sleep as do fireman so 20-24 I would say.

legally... as many as they want, as long as i have a break every 6 hours or so.

Well, truck drivers have stipulations on their amount of driving they can do in a day. I don't know how many it "allowe" for ordinary folks. But you are suppose to have a break in an 8 hr shift. I can't recall what the amount of time is though.

24, as long as you have the minimum number of breaks prescribed by law. These breaks, I believe also provide for meal breaks.

For certain jobs such as the tractor trailer drivers, there is a legal limit to how many hours someone can work in one day. But for most jobs there is no limit has long as the employee is not a minor.

I'm retired now. I worked 15 hours at a polling place last November.

I'm a Mum, so I work 23.5 hours out of the day.

Personally, I haven't worked more than seventeen hours in one day. I have met a couple of people who have worked 72 hours, but that took them three days!
