Your question isn't very clear and it sounds like you are talking about more than one budgie. From what I was told when we bought our budgie, they are social creatures and like to be with other budgies. If you are going to spend a lot of time with him, he may be fine but otherwise you should probably get him a companion.

Well of course your budgie might be a little depressed for a while budgies are social animals. did you say you just bought 2 new parakeets? You should Quarantine the new parakeets for at least 30days before letting them share the same air space due to diseases. After that I'm sure your parakeet will enjoy the company. The hard part is keeping them quarantined for 30days when I got my new budgie I couldn't wait a whole 30days! do you know if the new parakeets are males or females?

He will be able to tell it's a new, different bird but that's not a bad thing. Parakeets are very social birds and they do best with company, either as pairs or in a flight with dozens of others, though they will pair off themselves. If you can, get the opposite sex of whatever you have. Do you know why your other bird died? If not, and it could be a disease, be sure to keep both birds isolated from each other to make sure everything is fine and sterilize/clean the cage where both birds will go together just to be on the safe side.
