  • Not knowing her diagnosis, one would be guessing. It might just be extreme old age. It is amazing, as I'll bet she doesn't eat or drink much and yet her body still has bowel movements. As a nurse, I've observed so many that are in that condition. Just try and keep her hydrated. Ask her doctor if she is dehydrated he might suggest IV fluids or something like Immodium to help with the diarrhea. you are fortunate to have an aide.
  • My mom had mini strokes int eh beginning that started her urinary problems and then she was taking Nsaids daily, and they cause gastric upset. She got some better when taken off, but then had couple other small stokes. Couldnt really tell by talking to her at the time, but I could notice a tiny dif in her gait. Probably several other meds can have GI side effects. She was 86.
