Why two people ?Anyone that kills should be punished to the fullest extent, but the death penalty is too kind, let them rot in jail for the rest of their lives i say. Make them suffer big time.

It depends, how many have you killed?

No, I don't. First of all, I know many who have been in the military, and have killed more than two people. That is what they were ordered to do. I know cops that meet this criteria. We have accidental manslaughter, negligent homicide, self-defense, etc. If you are meaning more than two convictions on murder one, that's a bit different. I'd say that I MIGHT support it IF it were applied 100% accurately (no false convictions), IF it were applied 100% fairly, and IF it worked. Since the rich can afford better attorneys, and we have no way of completely preventing false convictions, I cannot support the death penalty. Studies show it doesn't really work to reduce the crime rate, yet it costs us more money to put someone to death than to keep them alive in the prison system for their entire life.

There is a difference between "killing" and "murdering." Being in the military, I must be prepared to kill in defense of my country. Murder is a different subject. I would support the death penalty for someone who has intentionally taken the life of another human being for reasons of personal vengeance, etc., while I would not support the idea of frying my entire platoon in the electric chair after coming back from combat.

If it's murder once is enough for me. Line 'em up and fry 'em. And if the conviction is supported by a preponderance of physical eveidence like DNA and finger prints than no appeals. And if they plead "guilty by reason of insanity" it's bye-bye time for the sick dog. We're not looking for a deterant, we're meeting out true justice for the victem and punishment for the guilty. And it's not vengance, what we do to them is far more compasionate than whatthese people do to their victems. And no where near what Hell has in store for them. That's why our justice system is failing us so badly. Too many people worring about the wrong things.

I do not agree with the death penalty. Deaths relating to war are not murder in my mind as soldiers are in a state of war, and are ordered to kill (I do not like war either). The justice system is too riddled with bias and corruption to be able to actually prove that all the people on death row should really be there (although I am sure the innocents are in the minority). Who are we to judge that it is OK to take a life in response to someone else taking a life. We should take the high road and not accept killing whether it is state sanctioned or murder.
