Giflriend just moved out of old bf's condo that they leased. It was a 12 mos lease and they were joint. He started listing ads for a new tenant after she left, but she just got a bill for the full break, without his name. Can he drop without telling her?

He may have moved and didn't notify the landlord, agent or management company with a forwarding address. In other words, he "skipped" the lease.

    It happens VERY frequently.

The landlord wanted to be paid. Your g/f's forwarding address was easy enough to track down.

As they say, "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush." NOW it's up to her to track-down her ex and let someone know. Otherwise she'll be responsible for the entire amount due.

Whether or not the landlord, agent or management company will go after him is another matter.

She might have to bring him to court for half of the total amount due to the landlord or management company.
