  • :O i didn't no he was retiring. but isn't his condition still deteriorating? as far as im aware he operates his computer using a muscle in his cheek. if it gets worse, wud it not get to the point where he cudnt communicate with other people?
  • Research. He is still going to be a Professor, just not the Lucasian Professor. It is customary to relinquish the post at Hawking's age. He will still be active in the physics world, although like many his best work is probably behind him now.
  • Great question. I believe he wanted to go inside a black hole. If Im correct, he will now have much more time to do so...Like you stated, I dont think he will be retiring from physics. Perhaps this will give him the chance to develop more theories, and make them more sound. I look forward to seeing what this great man will do with ( hopefully ) more time on his hands.Alternatively, I would really like him to sign up to AB, and then share his thoughts on many topics with us, that would be very interesting. What kind of questions does he have, and of course, what kind of answers does he have? ☺
