This question isn't very clear. However, most companies (especially manufacturing plants and engineering places) have restrictions banning cameras or any recording devices on the premises. This is to aid in stopping industrial espionage. Your company had a right to take away that phone and to suspend the employee, such a stipulation is almost guaranteed to be in the contract for working there.
