he could just be looking for a way to cheat without accually cheating

First I'd try to talk with him about it to see if you can gain any insight into this change of mood. If he's not communicative, give him the space he's asking for. Go live your life. And if you happen to be available if/when he comes back around, decide if that's what YOU want;)

I have talked to him countless times but all he can seem to do is mumble i don't knows. He said he doesn't want anyone else, but doesn't seem to care if we have any communication. He's been with his guys all the time!!! His mom is really protective and has him in at curfew and I've been able to do all I want becuase my parents are ok with it. He says since it's senior year, he wants to go wild and have fun. He was so confined that now his friends are taking him out it's opened up a whole new world for him. He told me he wanted to take a break and the next day he told me he regretted it and we got back together, then the next day he was moody again and said he didn't want to be tied down. I wasn't a controlling girlfriend and he would be just as free in the relationship as he would out. He said it's not fair of him to keep hurting me like this. Im so confused because he's not giving me straight answers. Im so afriad of losing him, we've never gone through this before. And since he said he had the guy feeling to be single, it had to happen. Im so hurt by all of this and he's being so unemotional and distant. He'll talk to me if I initiate the converation, but doesn't say a whole lot. I don't know what s going on and this is killing me! Its all I think about, I cry constantly and Im letting it take over my life! HELP!!!! and when we were together he was the sweetest thing, he's never done anything like this!

That means he wants to be single. He does not want to be tied down and is not ready commit. It is only a matter of time before he will break up. He doesn't want to lose you but he wants to live the single life. I am going through that right now and it sucks.
