That depends on what newspaper you buy!

I definetely agree because some on my opinion is all you hear is what you should think about something and soetimes all is not said on a matter because the reporter only gets what will benefit the news channell to get it ratings up.

The news are sensored and doctored up greatly these days thanks to the present censorship so rampant in this administration. The media, overall, has sold its soul to the devil

News is big business -- it's all about the ratings. If they can deliever 24 hours of dribble, people watch and read and they sell their ads - why in the world change. Few demend news/information.

Well, I don't know if I would call it untrue. I believe news wants you to hear what they want you to hear. I mean, how many people has heard of Ron Paul? The media did not want to let him have TV time because they want Obama to be president. They wanted McCain to run against him because Obama stands a better chance against McCain then Ron Paul. The media showed off like the top ten canidates once that earned the most money, and Ron Paul did not make the list, but Ron Paul would of made fifth place if they put his name in there. So thats my opinion. Thanks for reading.

All news entities have station owners, they in turn have their own purgatives. These purgatives justify what the station covers and how it is being covered. In no way is any news program unbiased. Although BBC is the least biased I have found it is still biased in some instances. During the times of highest viewership, ie. Presidential Election, stations fight with each other to gain the most viewers/ commercial time/ money from sponsors. This is where you get dramatic news casting lies for bucks.

Any news story that says stuff like "alledged," "unnamed sources," or other hint that these aren't actual facts (yet) but just accusations, or at least unconfirmed to be true, would qualify, at the moment anyway, to be more in the rumor than the news category. Let us all not forget what happens when unproven news is reported, good examples are Richard Jewel and those Duke University LaCrosse players.

When you quote a bonehead you get a bonehead answer. Not news. The same with mystery "Experts" News has gradually lost its value over time. Thorough news gives you verifiable information where you may formulate your own conclusions. BS news gives you soundbites to stir emotional reactivity.

I heard the news refered to as infotainment, and I really liked the term. The news used to be a place you went to to find out what is going on. Now, with large corporations buying up news outlets, they all tend to air the same canned stories. Also, while many news organizations used to make little or no money, in the name of reporting what is happening, now, it is demanded that they make money. The result is that we only hear the sensational (mostly bad), and whatever else will make people watch or read.
