    Germany has several gift giving days. The 6th December is St Nicholas' Day and the children get some presents then. But mostly, the gifts are opened on Christmas Eve.

    German children open their presents on Christmas Eve. My parents are both German so even though I was born in the U.S. we always opened them on Christmas Eve. (We still do with my parents). But my husband and I exchange our gifts on Christmas Day.
