  • I'm sure you could do that, but if you are using Windows and your users are at all computer-savvy they will be able to circumvent whatever you do.
  • No. You clearly state they need read access. With read access, files can be copied to any directory they can wrote to, internal or external.....or remotely. If you allow a file to be read, you allow it to be copied. Period. Doesn't matter what medium or operating system....even if you allow someone read access to a book, they can put it on a copy machine.
  • You could make a special version of a player program that decrypts the files as it plays them. Only the program would know how to decrypt them, and the users wouldn't be able to play them on their mp3 players or distribute them. However, there are always ways to get around this sort of thing, but you do have to use an audio "grabber" program to do it. I think that's what they are called. They intercept the audio data as it's being streamed out to the device.
