Probably depends where you're from and what games are accessible to you. For example, I've heard that in America one of the best MMORPGs is Everquest. Here in Asia, there are several available [especially from Japan, Korea, etc.] Here's a few of what I know. Unless I state it, I'm not sure in which countries these games are available or unavailable. - Evequest - Guild Wars - Final Fantasy XI [I was told this is MMORPG] - Ragnarok Online: Available in Japan [jRO] Korea [kRO] India, Brazil, and the Philippines. Has an international server [iRO] and from what I know a European server [euRO] - Flyff Online: Korea, Philippines.. dont know the rest ** If I miss big names, its probably because I don't play it. I play Ragnarok Online in the Philippines.

The world's most popular MMORPG is World of Warcraft. Very easy to get in to, but will take an increasingly inordinate amount of your time to progress later on. Quite fun, however, first time you play it. Some other popular ones include: EverQuest II EVE Online Dark Age of Camelot Lineage II City of Heroes The most complete website where you can find information on just about any MMORPG is http://www.mmorpg.com

Final Fantasy XI - For your hardcore gamer. Much more difficult than others but you feel more rewarded when hard tasks are completed. Longer game play, generally a better community than other MMO’s World Of Warcraft - Simple, easy, repetitive. For your casual gamer. Immature community. Anarchy Online - High Learning Curve. Free without expansions. Sci-Fi twist on your normal MMO. Ragnarok Online - Fun, easy, free private servers. Can get repetitive. For Anime fans generally. Guild Wars - Free but very limited game play. City Of Heroes/Villains - Extremely easy, extremely repetitive. For your comic book enthusiast. Hope this helps; these are just my opinions on games that I have played.

www.mmorpg.com There's all kinds of crap on their website including a list of previously released games and games that are in development or in beta testing, message boards, reviews, etc. I play Everquest II and Guild Wars.

Lord of the Rings Online is coming out in April, and I absolutely love it - it is going to be the new best game out there! (I am in the beta, and have played a bunch of others so I know.)
