What were Presidents Jefferson and Hamilton's political philosophies?

    They had very different viewpoints.

    Jefferson wanted a more decentralized government with more powers to the states.

    Hamilton favored a strong national government. He wanted the government to set up a National Bank, to regulate more things, and to grow in size.

    Ultimately, it seems we're gone Hamilton's way. By means of the interstate commerce clause, Washington can control whatever it wants.

    Jefferson is probably rolling in his grave because of the FDA, FCC, MPAA, etc. He thought that a government this controlling is just as bad as the English crown.

    They seemed to belive in a VERY weak gov. They wanted a lot of overseers in the government, so they were overall-libertarians.
