What does the English language (American or not) sound like to a foreigner? For instance, to me Chinese sounds harsh and distinct, Korean sounds smooth and mumbly.

Can't really answer that because for all my life I have been speaking English. But according to my mother, English sounds obnoxious. Maybe because when speaking English, most people are so expressive. Of course, it probably depends on the individual as well. Jackie O was so poised and eloquent when she spoke.
