In most states now it is legal...it is best to know your friends backgrounds and their habits before riding in their car...If you don't want the citation then be sure there is nothing in the car inwhich you are riding.
Be glad too because it used to be you would have been charged with a felony;even if you knew nothing about it or had participated in it...that is a perminent record and would bar you from many places of employment.
Would it be considered a crime of "Concealed Weapon" if you carried a 6 inch knife aroud in you pocket in Tennessee?

You're reading I was the passenger in a vehicle that was searched and a small amount of marijuana was found. I was issued a misdemeanor, even though I was unaware of the presence of the marijuana. I was not driving and the vehicle did not belong to me. Is this legal?
