Buddha was a peaceful atheist. I cannot, though I have a damn good idea of where you are going, predict the will of God or the extent of his Mercy. Agressive and mean are all words you are using to describe a christian, a very dedicated and highly respected member of the community, who dedicates his life to Christ. In following the Bible, it is the responsiblity of all christians to spread the rule of God, to spread the will of salvation, and to pray for people who do not believe, as I will Do for you tonight Elitheeli. Kindhearted and nice in the will of God is accepting his existence, something that you sadly do not do. Only God can decide who goes to heaven or hell, but in his words if you make no effort to believe in the holy scripture, you will be spared no effort in the afterlife (which does exist by the way). Please feel free to demeaningly rate this answer, as you have done my others, but I must say that God is the best path to follow, nomatter what. (To ELITHEELI or any others, please note that this answer is biased toward a christain viewpoint, use your own views to judge for yourself the meaning of life. Any atheist out their, please take time to discover for yourself your own religious pretenses and disregard this is you find it irrelevant. Thanks, Vincent)

Here is the problem and I want to put this so you can understand it. When it comes to Heaven and Hell everything will be judged by God's standard. God's standard is so difficult that only Jesus managed to uphold it. I think they counted 671 laws in the Torah alone. Committing one makes you guilty of a crime against God so you must be punished for it or else God is not just. Christ however took your punishment, akin to paying the fine for you. However to get this you have to accept him as your savior. If you don't its akin to a man going up to the judge to pay your fine and you telling him to shut the f up. He's not going to pay that fine. So God being just is going to send you to hell if you don't accept Christ's payment for your fine. We are saved by grace through faith alone. No person on this earth deserves heaven. Not you and certainly not me.

None of us knows who will or will not be accepted, God gave us free will. It is not my place to judge anyone for believing in Buddha or not believing in anything but yourself. It could turn out that God/Jesus are just myths. I wouldn't know till I get there. I just am not willing to take the chance. I'd rather be faithful now then find out too late that there is a loving/caring God who sent His only Son to die so that I may have a better chance of getting into heaven. What's it going to hurt to have faith in God, study His word (the Bible)? I DO NOT force my views on anybody. I have a hard time believing that someone like Ghandi or Pope John Paul will go to hell, but again it's not up to me and I WILL NOT pass judgement on them or anyone for their beliefs. God Bless, <:))))<><

John 10:14-16 are verses from Christian scripture which suggest that even people who were not Christians in life will go to the same Heaven Christians do, if they were good people. You have to decide for yourself what the verses mean, and how that would affect Buddha, if you think Buddha will be judged by Christian standards: KING JAMES VERSION 14 -- I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine. 15 -- As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 -- And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. NEW INTERNATIONAL VERSION 14 -- I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— 15 -- just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 -- I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.

Atheists do not believe in God, thus, they do not believe in Jesus Christ, who is the only Way to heaven. In a hypothetica situation, if there were an atheist who was very moral and a born-again Christian who was less moral than that atheist, the Christian would still go to heaven if he were truly a born-again Christian and the atheist would go to hell because he was not saved. Being moral is good, but not good enough for God to let you in heaven. Your sins must be blotted out by the blood of Jesus Christ. Works won't get rid of your sin, only the blood of the Lamb will. Thank you and God bless you!

I THINK HEAVEN AND HELL IS ALL MUMBO JUMBO IF TRUE IT MUST BE SOME SIZE TO ACCOMADATE ALL THE DEAD. WHEN ONE DIES ONE IS BORN.

I can answer this question to my own knowledge, but truthfully we are all answering from our opinions. No one knows who gets into heaven and who doesn't, because God is the one who decides our final destiny. As for an atheist, i do not believe that there is a way to reach heaven if you do not believe in Jesus Christ, and believe he died for our sins. And for the aggressive mean man, i do not know if God would accept him. I believe it would depend on his cruelty and his past actions and if he asked for forgiveness. God is good, and in knowing that i do believe God gives chances for all of us to believe. I hear that alot of people die believing on their death bed.

Yes

According to scripture, the only way to reach heaven is to accept Christ as your personal savior and acknowlege the fact that he died on the cross to pay for our sins. An athiest does not believe in God, so I would assume they do not believe in heaven either, therefore, it would seem that they also have no expectations of going to "heaven". That in itself is the answer to your question. As for the mean, aggressive "Christian"...there are plenty of people sitting on the front pew in church, claiming to be Christians, who hasn't got a snowball's chance in hell of going to heaven.

One must accept Christ (with all that that implies) to get in to heaven. Everyone will have an adequate opportunity to do so. Those who then reject him are not refused entry to heaven, they have refused to enter heaven. Note: Not everyone gets that opportunity in this life. Those who don't will get it in the next life before they are judged. - I doubt very much that Buddha did or will go to hell. - And yes, a nice, kindhearted, honest, hard-working atheist will have a better chance of getting into heaven than an aggressive, mean Christian.

The Catholic Church believes that those who die never hearing of Christ but have sought the truth and does the will of God as they understand it can be saved. See Romans 2:13-16. For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church, sections 1257-1261: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt2sect2.shtml#art1 With love in Christ.

Hell yeah

Your state of being in the next level of existence is not determined by belief. It's determined by behavior instead.

Dump all this nonsense. The whole idiocy of "who gets into Heaven" is poor theology. Who knows what happens? Ever ask someone with such a mindset HOW they know? It's all a lot of medieval malarky. move beyond it. Be comfortable with NOT knowing what happens when we die.

Jesus Christ has the final say for whom enters Heaven or Hell. Ultimately, I believe that we must believe that Jesus Christ walked the earth, died and rose from the dead. In terms of your second question - it's impossible to say; But, I think that neither the Atheist or the Christian would have a good chance to enter Heaven unless they followed the scripture and believed in Christ. Christian or not, you must obey the word of God. "I am the Living One; I was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades." Revelation 1:18
