Correct me if I'm wrong here, but Issac and Ishmael are two different sons. Issac was the one who was supposed to be sacrificed. Ishmael was conceived with Abraham's mistress/concubine/otherwife Hagar, and they left after Sarah (the favored wife) finally bore him Issac. Ishmael is considered to be an ancestor of the Muslim faith. He is not the Muslim version of Issac, but his half-brother. (this is all off the top of my head, so I might have gotten it wrong) Edit: hey, looks like I did. I went and looked it up, and I guess some Islamic traditions say that Ishmael was the son in the story. Ignore this answer then. :/
