  • My answer is yes, but it all depends on why you think each was started.
  • No one can know for sure. The right question is how likely would World War II to happen had there not been World War I. I would say that it was still quite possible for this to happen.
  • Interesting question. I suspect the US and Japan would have gotten into some sort of fight regardless as both had interests in the Pacific that would have collided. As for the European theatre, I rather doubt it as the Versailles Treaty largely created the conditions that Hitler took advantage of to rise to power, not to mention that he and Mussolini would not have had their wartime experiences which likely had some influence on them as well. Mussolini may or may not have risen to power in Italy. So, to answer your question, probably not. The First World War affects us more than most know, it set the stage for at least a part of the second one and also served as a catalyst for revolution and eventual Bolshevik domination of Russia.
  • Well no, in the sense it wouldn't be called WWRII. It might have been known as the "war to end all wars" as well(that is what the people who lived during WWI called WWI). I do believe the circumstances that started still would have happen and there still would have been a huge war.
  • Not the WW2 we know, but A war would have started.
  • If WWI had been prevented WWII would have then been called WWI and happened later anyway. We better be sure to keep WWIII from starting!
