  • It definetly prevents rape. It's popular belief that it encourages rape because it makes people aroused which makes them more likely to rape. This simply isn't true though because statistically prisons that have no porn have higher incidents of rape than prisons with porn. The reason behind this is because prisoners with porn feel less of a need to rape than prisoners without porn because they have something to help them out when they're sexually frustrated. So this is another prime example where popular opinion disagrees with statistics. For more proof, you should also refer to Playboy, September 2007 issue, page 57.
  • I think it prevents rape because almost all of the female patients I see that are in a happy sexual relationship with their partner use porn. One female patient of mine even commented that she's glad her boyfriend looks at jack mags when she's not around because then she knows that he isn't cheating on her.
  • I think it causes both, If you watch porn, there is porn that is rape related, it could go either way, it could make them get off, and not need to go rape, or it could excite them so much that they have the need to go commit rape. But I think eventually if you are someone that enjoys/gets off of that, you will act it out.
  • Personally, I dont think there is any link whatsoever. Asking that is tantamount to asking "Does pornography encourage rainfall or lower your golf handicap?". My point being simply that despite what people perceive, they are unrelated. Rapists are fucked in the head --- people who watch porn are just regular sexual beings. Linking them in any way degrades regular sexuality.
