  • Maybe there is something wrong with your car, like the exhaust is loose or your tail lights are out?
  • The pulled up beside you and didn't put their window down to speak with you. That would of freaked me out a bit. There could have been something wrong, but you would think they would try and engage you in conversation. Check it out, but never take anyone's word for it while on the road. Say thanks, I'll check that out with my husband/boyfriend. Even if you don't have a husband/boyfriend. Don't ever pull over for someone, especially at night. There have been reports of people impersonating police officers and women being hurt.
  • your turn signal was probably on.
  • There is no explaining how some people behave behind the wheel. Maybe you were in the left lane and not going fast enough to suit them. Who knows? Anyway, Grammy Robin gives good advice and to that, I would simply add, keep your doors locked AT ALL TIMES while driving, avoid all eye contact with other drivers and disregard their honking, high beam flashing, etc. There have been numerous instances of gang initiations taking place on unsuspecting drivers on the roads with similar kinds of activity. High beams flashed and when you respond with high beams, that is their sign to chase you and cause an accident, run you off the road, or shoot into your vehicle. Always exercise caution and put your own safety first.
  • Tried leaving comment under Grammy, but wouldn't let me. So... would have freaked me out a little too, but not too bad. I'm a bigger/stronger guy than most and I never travel un-armed. :) I would like to add to your comment that in almost all situations, and in almost all states, (haven't heard of one that said otherwise) when a cop is signaling for you to pull over at night, legally you do not have to pull over until you get to a well-lit public area.(check with local station just to be sure) This is because of that impersonating police crap and people getting raped, robbed, killed, etc. Just don't speed up or you could get in trouble for running from cops. But if you turn your hazards on and just keep driving to nearest gas station, or something, should not be a problem. +2
