  • Do atheists know, deep down, that there IS?
  • On the contrary. They know that God exists or at least they believe so.
  • Many times, I wished there wasn't. Sometimes I wondered. A couple of times I thought there wasn't. . And then, there he was. I had been sad and stupid and selfish. . He's there. .
  • Why is it that christians get to question the staunchness of our beliefs, but we can't do the same? I think AntigoneRising's question was very good and very relevant!
  • I beg to differ. "The senseless one has said in his heart: “There is no Jehovah.” Psalm 14:1
  • I think that would certainly explain their rampant hypocrisy
  • by my definition of being a Christian, then one has to believe in God to be a Christian. you can say you believe, but there is a difference between saying and knowing. so, to answer your question, true Christians know deep down that there is a God.
  • I don't think so, AR. That would be antithetical to the designation of "Christian". Now, some of them may come to that conclusion..at which point, they are no longer Christians. Happy Tuesday! :)
  • No. I don't think so. Have you ever read Richard Dawkins' book 'The God Delusion'. He explains that such belief it due to memes, a conditioning from birth. Whatever your beliefs it is an interesting book to read.
  • Nope, not at all! They totally believe 100% in Jesus.
  • do atheists know deep down that there is one? ask a stupid question. get a stupid question in return. after reading comment threads under the top answer.... that is exactly what you are doing. someone asked the stupid question I answered you with so you reterned teh favor.
  • I know deep down there is. God shows Himself through nature, just looking around me counts as proof for me. He also revealed Himself through the prophets, and finally through Jesus.
  • No, I never have. I have often wondered if I am truly saved when God seems so far away....but then He assures me that He is so incredibly real and I am still His child. He "spiritually" opened my eyes and filled me with His spirit-that's the only thing I know what to say-I was "dead" and now I am "alive" through Jesus Christ. There is really no way to describe what it feels like when God lives in your heart, but I promise you, He is VERY real.
  • lol...maybe some do, I dunno...it depends how deep your faith goes. I do believe in a God and there is no way of telling me there isnt. Only beucase of how many times I have seen him work in my life. Only that I know all of us have a destiny, we all have a life to live that is guided...and each step directed, and you fall and you learn only to gain stregnth. That I have somebody watching out for me, and loves me more than I could possibly imagine. I have watched my life and lead my life step by step and minute by minute...and each step and choice has led me to exactly where I need to be, exactly what I need to know, exactly what ive needed to see, and exactly what Ive needed to feel. There is no denying that there is a God. If I were to do so I would be stupid. Everyone has their own lives though, and still yet will have more experiences... I cannot say that even in my deepest of deeps, and even the VERY core...of my body, mind, or soul...I can say there is no God...becuase there is not a place in me for it. There used to be. My thoughts used to be different, I seen God in a different light...or darkness should I say, and I didnt understand anything. When the lights are turned on, your perspective changes, you understanding changes...nothing is as it were. So nobody understands until you are there. Many search their entires lives to find what I have already found...many will never find it. I dont know why...its just the way things are. There is much I do not know. But I do know enough to know, there is a God. so..................No I do not believe deep down christians know there is no God.
  • Some of them do. Others are very faithful, like me.
  • lol....no, I know ,deep down, God is there..:) Do atheists, KNOW,DEEP DOWN, there is God?
