  • I believe they use a form of Brazilian Ju Jitsu.
  • Depends on the country. Can be Ju Jitsu, Sambo, Aikido, even Greco-Roman wrestling, etc.
  • ... it varies from country to country ... Canada used to teach a blend of JuJitsu & Hapkido (during the 12 years I was military) ... recently they have blended in and added some misc. bits and pieces from Krav Maga & Systema ...
  • It's often a blend of different arts.
  • Pretty much a blend of everything, which ends up being called "Modern Military Combatives" or something similar. They just take what they need from whatever art (Asian, European, etc.) and make a system out of it. A good example is Krav Maga.
  • Imagine Mixed Martial arts. The form taught to Royal Marines (who have probably the most extensive unarmed combat training out of any british non Special Forces soldiers) is similar to Thai-Kick-Jitsu, a combination of Muay Thai, Jiu-Jitsu, Aikido, Taekwondo, straight kickboxing, and a touch of greco-roman wrestling.
