Curses, as in "I put a curse upon your family?" No, I don't believe it.
-
Nope not true.....and not founded.....If there was a curse to impose a disease I am sure there would have been a curse to cure AIDS or Cancer if they wanted too...;)
-
Ignorance is a wonderful thing that cannot be defeated
-
AB...believe it or not is not the first and foremost place to find the truth. Genetic disorders have nothing to do with curses. This folklore comes from the inability to determine the cause of these diseases. Science has since shed a little more light on this issue.
-
Actually, isn't that what a genetic disease is? Something passed down through generations? And, in a way, a curse? Unless you're talking about some hoodoo mumbo jumbo when you say "curse" I fail to see the point here.
-
It is absolutely utter nonsense. Disorders are often genetic and are passed down through generations. Diseases such as cancer are for the most part, acquired as we grow older. For example, clogged arteries which can cause heart problems is caused by too much cholesterol in our bodies. You can't blame that on some supposed curse that someone may have uttered generations or centuries ago.We can only blame it on ourselves.
-
I dont think so, i think its all just 'luck of the draw' and also lifestyle contributes ha!
-
Uh, no, I don't think so. Although genetic disorders are passed down through generations, this happens for reasons that are explainable, and are not the work of witches or the like.
-
no, just genetics
-
No. A "family curse" is how people explained the results of genetics when they didn't know what genetics was.
-
I think that the converse is true. What were traditionally considered "family curses" were actually genetic disorders. A classic case of science explaining the supernatural. +5
